Finch & Thistle Event Design is a floral and event design studio located in Seattle, WA. We are proud to provide event design, floral and event planning services for weddings and events throughout Washington State and across the country.
Our owner and lead designer, Rachel Bowes has over fifteen years experience designing weddings and events for non-profits and corporations. Before launching Finch & Thistle in 2008, Rachel spent three years at the Seattle Symphony planning and designing black tie galas and numerous donor events. In December 2012 Rachel was named a “female entrepreneur to watch” by Victoria magazine, one of nine female business owners nationally.
Rachel’s florals are acclaimed for their lush, organic style and she often includes vintage details and vessels into her weddings and events. An avid gardener influenced by how flowers grow in nature, she loves to play around with different color combinations and layers, and include unusual parts of the plant such as seed heads and buds. Rachel is also a talented prop stylist and in addition to styling editorial and commercial shoots, she works with her event clients to add props and details unique to each couple and event.
Rachel spends her downtime traveling as far and wide as possible, playing with her two small sons, working in her garden with her husband and chasing her two terriers around the park.
